“My clients know that they are safe, and always in control. Once trust is established, they can feel free to simply feel good or to communicate as they wish.”
Frank P. Arce is in the business of making people feel good, great even. During harsh economic times, wavering political climates and stress in general, people like Frank P. Arce are there to bring us back into a state of calm relaxation. Through volunteer work, a career revelation and a genuine caring for others, Frank Arce began his career as a massage therapist almost eighteen years ago and takes pride in his work. A self-described, “one-on-one person,” Frank is able to focus his attention and skills toward individually helping those relieve stress through therapeutic massage. He is also one to not only take people’s therapeutic needs into account, but also their financial situations.
Over the past few years, Frank has adjusted his rates for those who need that consideration, as well as accepting the Pride Card which offers further discounts for his services. Frank’s method of massage therapy is based on trust. He works with clients according to what he feels is appropriate for each individual but also makes it a point to listen for any specific needs that they feel need to be met.
“My clients know that they are safe, and always in control. Once trust is established, they can feel free to simply feel good or to communicate as they wish.” His methods include a blend of varying techniques that allow bodies to gradually adapt to the massage and potentially incorporate a deeper touch to create the most relaxing effect.
His volunteer work is a testament to his caring nature and his interpersonal skills. While his attention is mostly focused in helping his close friends and the community these days, he has experience working with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation for four years as well as his volunteer work with Auntie Helen’s. Frank also lends his support and is an advocate for the Human Rights Campaign as well as Doctors Without Borders, an organization that provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.
Frank is also an out, and proud man with as much love for the community as he has for his career. “I celebrate the LGBT community. My gayness is a source of great pleasure and learning for me. This is part of who I am. The ways in which people perceive me allows me to examine myself through their eyes. This, in turn, helps me develop a greater respect and understanding for others.”
