Letters to the Editor
Published Thursday, 05-Aug-2010 in issue 1180
Dear Editor
Well, I read the guest editorial and letters patting each other on the back for a fabulous pride festival. It really wasn’t that fabulous. The crowd at the festival was sparse and there were half the organization and vendor booths of previous years. Practically the entire lower circle was empty of booths.
Last year the ticket prices went from $15 to $20 and people complained. In spite of the complaints they kept it at $20 this year. I’m assuming the booth fees went up too...hence the lack of participation there.
A word of advice to the Pride Board...next year try being less greedy with ticket prices and fees and perhaps more people will show up to the festival.
Sincerely,
Carson McIntyre
Media,
*It is that when God came down and saw we could accomplish anything, of Genesis 11, he understood us to be building a Tower to Heaven. He saw we had no consecutive logical thought to add to our faith and took compassion on us. He knew we were going to continue stacking stone upon stone and would forever ask : How much farther do you think we will have to build ? Do you think we will ever get there ? I am sure more then once these questions were answered with a shrug ( ? ) and a directive to build another layer. God took compassion on us and sent us Abraham. Whereby, we are now able to put consecutive logical thought into our Faith = Believable ! God took compassion on us because he knew we would continue building higher and higher and never actually accomplish what we had set out to accomplish. Albeit, we would have built that tower all the way to the moon because that particularly was what we had set our minds to.
How’s that for consecutive logical thought !
* The descriptions here in are not an absolute depiction of events; analogies have been drawn to make the here in stated point that we are indeed truly blessed. and can accomplish anything.
