Car stars: The San Diego International Auto Show cruises into town today from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center, and stays through Jan. 4. This year features 525,000 square feet of exotic cars from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley and more, plus the latest new models, pre-production vehicles and concept cars. Free film: The City of San Diego Public Library presents Lovely and Amazing today at 2:00 p.m., as part of its ongoing free film series. The film is an ensemble comedy about a mother and her three daughters — a former homecoming queen, an aspiring actress and an adopted 8-year old preoccupied with her looks. Cirque Dreams: Not to be confused with the Canadian troupe Cirque du Soleil, Neil Goldberg’s Cirque Dreams is the first American performance group of its kind. This performance is a European-style collection of human acts crossed with Broadway theatrics, featuring acrobats, musclemen, clowns and contortionists doing mind-blowing things you can only dream of. Staiano and drummer Frank Grau to form critically acclaimed Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, an art terrorist band that plays beautiful, violent and occasionally frightening music that is simply unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.
