Pride season continued as Chula Vista was one of the more recent locations to hold their annual South Bay Pride event and music festival on Saturday, August 21st. Held in Memorial Park, the event proved to be a festive and lively one with numerous musical performances, food, booths and hundreds of GLBT community flags flying high.
Free admission to the event included a day filled with raffle prizes, a beer garden, a slew of entertainment options and a children’s garden. This fun-filled, family event drew in crowds from all over San Diego, ready to celebrate and show their pride in the community.
While the event drew in a large gathering to Memorial Park, it was the live performances by varying artists that occupied the crowd’s attention. Musical performances included artists the likes of Gabe Lopez, Sammy Allen, Rhythm and Method, Roxy Blue and the Handful, The Tighten Ups and Empress Norma. Other performances included Tori Roze & the Hot Mess, JB Drag Kings, La Miss Fierce and Lauren Holiday. The entire event was emceed by the popular and charismatic Laura Jane.
South Bay Pride proved to be a huge success in the community and it could not have been accomplished without the hard work of the staff, organizers and sponsors.
