Gay Rodeo – The 2010 San Diego Rodeo will be held from September 9th to September 12th running all day with varying times for different event at the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds as well as the Sheraton in Mission Valley. The San Diego Rodeo is hosted by the Golden State Gay Rodeo Association, Greater San Diego Chapter and will feature an assortment of different events throughout the 4 day event. Boots & Briefs – The 2010 San Diego Gay Rodeo and GSGRA-GSDC will be hosting its Boots & Briefs Underwear Auction on Friday, September 10th with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and the contest beginning at 9:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Mission Valley. The hotel is located at 1433 Camino Del Rio S in Mission Valley. Come finish up the first day of the 2010 Gay Rodeo right with an auction that will benefit the 2010 San Diego Gay Rodeo as well as GSGRA-GSDC. Rodeo Dance Party – The 2010 San Diego Gay Rodeo and GSGRA-GSDC will be hosting its Rodeo Dance Party on Saturday, September 11th at 8 p.m. Don your cowboy hat and chaps and join other San Diego Rodeo locals and visitors for a dance party that won’t soon be forgotten. Wind down after a day of rodeo events at the Sheraton Hotel in Mission Valley and drink and dance the night away as you celebrate one of the many Rodeo events to hit San Diego. Bicentenario en Vista - Come join the Vista Townsite Community Partnership (VTCP) in celebrating “Bicentenario 2010 (200 Years of Mexican Independence)” in Historic Downtown Vista (corner of N. Indiana and E. Broadway) on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. Come learn about Mexican-American history and traditions at our family oriented event. Bicentenario 2010 will feature an Arts & Crafts Handmade section, food court, beer garden, Mexican Art Show at Gallery 204, concert, live dancing performances and a kid’s zone. Rock Step – Rock Step will be hosting its Country Western Dance class on Monday, September 13th 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at The Center. Rock Step offers the GLBT community, as well as their families and friends, an environment that allows everyone - regardless of skill level - to experience the pure joy of dancing. Rainbow Cyclists – Rainbow Cyclists will be hosting their After-Work ride at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14th. Get rid of those midweek cobwebs by getting out on the trail for a while. Actual rides will vary but may include Penasquitos, San Clemente Canyon or Mission Trails. Bring your light because it can get dark! The ride will last a couple of hours. Start time is at 5:30pm and call Bill 1-2 days ahead of time to get the ride and start point info. Damon Castillo Band – The Anthology Club in San Diego will be hosting a performance by The Damon Castillo Band on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:30 p.m. The Damon Castillo Band hails from San Luis Obisbo and has a unique sound that combines jazz, funk, rock with the soulful lyrics of Damon Castillo. He describes it as simply, “real musicians playing real tunes.” The Damon Castillo Band combines rock and soul and has been creating this unique combination for years, now bringing their talent to San Diego the band is looking to put on quite the show at the Anthology. Robin Tyler – Robin Tyler, who made history as the first out gay or lesbian comic will be performing her New York winning autobiographical media play, Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Groom at the Diversionary Theatre on Thursday, September 16th at 7:00 p.m. A hilarious romp through GLBT history, Tyler tells her personal, humorous story of the marriage equality movement. From marches on Washington to not-so pretty breakups with ex-lovers, this show exposes three decades of gay history like you’ve never heard it before.
