Tony and Pulitzer Award winner Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical plays follow the life of Eugene Morris Jerome from the foibles of youth in late-1930s Brooklyn to a career as a comedy writer for radio. Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound are performed in a rotating repertory schedule at The Old Globe Theatre. Brighton Beach Memoirs first regular performance is on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. Broadway Bound first regular performance is on Sunday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. They both run through November 7, 2010. The 5K AIDS Walk and 10K AIDS Run (USA Track & Field sanctioned route) is the largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser in San Diego County. Registration opens at 6:00 a.m. Opening Ceremonies begin at 7:00 a.m. The 10K AIDS Run starts at 8:00 a.m. followed by the 5K AIDS Walk at 8:05 a.m..

San Diego’s Transgender Coming Out Group meets every Monday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at The Center in Hillcrest. The group supports transgender people in all stages of exploring their gender identity. Confidentiality and safety are key to the group’s success. What is said in the group stays in the group. To alleviate any doubts and let you discover the benefits of the group, they invite you to see the group in action without necessarily participating or speaking (participation is always voluntary).
