Hillcrest Mardi Gras: The fun and debauchery begins at 6:00 p.m. tonight on University Ave. between Fourth and Third. Downtown Mardi Gras: San Diego’s largest Mardi Gras event, the 2004 Bud Light Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp, features live Cajun and Zydeco music, Candye Kane and a Cirque stage, and a lot more. The party starts at 5:00 p.m. and rages through until 12:00 midnight, when it’s time to settle into Lent among the ashes of the night before. Tickets are $15 at the door. The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library presents “A Celebration of Seuss”, an exhibition of the works of Theodor Seuss Geisel, a.k.a Dr. Seuss — one of La Jolla’s best-loved citizens. Admission is free. 1936 Berlin: The San Diego Museum of Art hosts a 7:00 p.m. screening and lecture of Olympia, a documentary of the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin, by the acclaimed and controversial German director Leni Riefenstahl.
