UCSD AS pass resolution against discrimination
The UCSD LGBT Resource Center is proud to announce that on Wednesday, March 10, in the UCSD Price Center Ballroom, the Associated Students of UCSD (the university’s undergraduate student government) passed the Resolution Against LGBTQI Discrimination in the Constitution and in Higher Education.
This follows a similar resolution, passed on Monday, March 8, by UCSD’s Graduate Student Association (the university’s graduate student government).
The combination of these two resolutions expresses the collective voice of all graduate and undergraduate students at UCSD in opposition to President Bush’s call for a constitutional amendment regarding same-sex marriage. Make a blanket statement
On chilly, wet winter nights, when we turn up the heat and wrap up in our favorite comforters, there are children and elderly people in the poorest parts of Baja California and San Diego County who don’t even have a decent blanket or sweater to help them keep warm. Many suffer greatly from exposure and some even die.
We can do something about this tragedy. Donate a warm blanket (new or slightly used) and save lives in San Diego and Baja California. When you donate blankets to warm others you will be warmed as well … from knowing that you have done an important, perhaps even life saving, deed.
Please drop your blankets off at the Gay & Lesbian Times office no later than Friday morning, March 26. The offices are located at 1730 Monroe Ave., Suite A, near the corner of Park and Monroe.
