Bringing things closer: The Museum of Contemporary Art’s downtown location premieres Gustavo Artigas’ “The Rules of the Game” today as part of their ongoing “Cerca Series”. Comprised of a video projection and supporting materials, including sports jerseys, balls and trophies, Artigas’ work is a metaphor for social, economic and political possibilities within the space of the U.S.-Mexico border, highlighting the difficult realities of two cultures occupying the same space. Sick & Twisted: For 25 years, the irreverent Spike & Mike have showcased the cutting-edge work of famous and unknown artists in their widely popular festival of animation. Day of percussion: The Percussive Arts Society and the SDSU School of Music & Dance present the San Diego Day of Percussion at the SDSU Music Building from 1:00-6:00 p.m. There will be performances by numerous jazz, percussion and African ensembles, as well as a clinic on tympani techniques and orchestral performances. Community Easter egg hunt: Join the Imperial Court de San Diego for its second annual Easter egg hunt. This free event provides fun for children and families from all over San Diego. The egg hunt takes place today at 2:00 p.m. at Trolley Barn Park, located at Adams Avenue and Park Blvd. Children ages 1-12 are invited to attend, and there will be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny. Catch the caravan before it leaves: Cirque du Soleil’s latest installment, the gypsy-themed Varekai, which opened March 18 in San Diego, has extended its run through April 18 due to popular demand. The blue-and-yellow-swirled Grand Chapiteau, located at Qualcomm Stadium, performs its magical blend of acrobatics, dance, music, clowning and surrealism Tuesdays-Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Tickets range from $50-70 for adults and $35-49 for children.
