“I can’t believe you have printed such garbage …”
Dear Editor:
I am in shock at the values you hold with your “alternative” newspaper. I can’t believe you have printed such garbage about a RESPECTED member of the gay community and then give side comments on not accepting interviews from convicted parties. I have been a close personal friend of Bret Marquis for about 9 years now I know his character in your article is nothing to what is actually the truth. Are you trying to get more readers by printing trash??? Remember just since there is a conviction of guilty, doesn’t mean you are ALWAYS guilty. I believe Bret will have “his day in court” one day and be absolved of this absurd charge. I feel you owe him a HUGE apology for your tabloid reporting.
I don’t even live in your state but you have lost a reader and my confidence in your publication as a legitimate reporting sorce and all friends of mine have been informed of your screwup. Did you know that statistically if you please a customer they only tell 2-3 people but, if you outrage a customer they tell 7-9 people?? Doesn’t look very good, huh?

“[H]ow in all good conscience could any of us … reelect someone who would attempt to curtail the very rights and freedoms guaranteed us in the Constitution?”
Dear Editor:
How in the world can any member of Log Cabin Republicans consider voting to retain George Bush later this year, or any member of the Republican Party, when their elected officials support a constitutional amendment to reduce gay and lesbian Americans to second-class citizens?
An article from Sunday’s San Diego Union-Tribune states, amazingly enough, that “an estimated 1 million gays” voted for Bush in 2000. No matter where gays and lesbians stand on wide range of fiscal responsibilities and social issues, domestic and international affairs, how in all good conscience could any of us, or our families and friends, reelect someone who would attempt to curtail the very rights and freedoms guaranteed us in the Constitution?
Also here is the e-mail address to the Orange County (Calif.) chapter of Log Cabin Republicans logcabinoc@aol.com and its national headquarters communications@logcabin.org and http://www.logcabin.org/logcabin/staff.html so you can express your concern about their support of George Bush.
