A night for Mama: Mama’s Kitchen’s annual gala, “Mama’s Day”, brings out the best of San Diego cuisine starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, La Jolla at Aventine, located at 3777 La Jolla Village Dr. The culinary event features top chefs and specialties from over 60 of the finest local restaurants, as well as a silent auction, opportunity drawing, entertainment and an Absolut vodka bar. NITE Out Cabaret: Show Must Go on Productions celebrates the one-year anniversary of the NITE OUT Cabaret series at the beautiful San Diego Hilton/Del Mar. The performance reprises the smash hit “Dueling Divas” with Bettina “Pixie” Warren and Marie Kelly. Kelly and Warren will each perform some of their own favorite diva songs and then join together to bring down the house with some powerful numbers. Ray at Night: The second Saturday of every month is Ray at Night on Ray Street in North Park, from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Multiple galleries stay open late, featuring live music, beverages and refreshments. The free event is located on Ray St, between University Avenue and North Park Way.
Las Vegas Gay Pride: The 2004 Las Vegas Gay Pride festival, “Winds of Change”, taking place May 8-16, features performances by pop artists Kristine W and international dance diva Pepper Mashay. The week includes the Pride Royalty Pageant, “Colors of Pride” Family Bingo, the celebrated Girlz Party and the equally popular Boys Party as well as the sixth annual Night Parade, which provides an opportunity for the GLBT community to shine bright as illuminated floats pass through the streets of Las Vegas. Coachella Film Festival: You may have missed the music fest, but the 2004 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival continues, featuring an official film festival tent with a revolving collection of edgy documentaries, narrative shorts and preview clips of upcoming movies that have a music-based slant.
