Go see this: If you’re an intellectual type, Eleemosynary is a nice chewy bit of theatre. Even if you’re not, don’t be put off by the title; it’s a great play and the actors are wonderful. The language is elegant, witty and carefully wrought as it probes into the delicate relationship between three extraordinary women: a young girl, her mother and her grandmother. See Eleemosynary at La Jolla Stage Co., 5661 La Jolla Blvd., tonight and tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. Call (858) 459-7773 for more information.
Find out for yourself: Forbidden, a play by Theatre of the Insane, written, directed and produced by Tom Papitto, is playing at 6th@Penn Theatre, 3704 6th Ave. The play is touted as one of “profound insight into the human condition.” It plays late, so it’s probably naughty. Plumb the depths and see what happens, Fridays and Saturdays at 10:00 p.m., through June 28. Call (619) 688-9210 for more information.
