The San Diego Armada Rugby Football Club is currently recruiting players. Join them this Sunday, and every Sunday, in Balboa Park for a formal practice from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the corner of Upas Street and Park Boulevard. The team also holds social practices on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Balboa Park along Sixth Avenue between Quince and Laurel.

The America’s Finest City Softball League takes to the fields each Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. and continues through the day until 2:00 p.m. Games are played at the Poway Sportsplex and in Mira Mesa at Hourglass Park.

The Rainbow Volleyball Alliance takes over the Balboa Gym Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday afternoons they set up courts along Sixth Avenue.

The San Diego American Flag Football League will end its inaugural season with a four-game tournament to determine the final standings in the league. All of the games will be played at the Linda Vista Recreation Center; times are to be determined.

The Southern California Women’s Baseball League welcomes players of all skill levels and experience to come out for their final workout before teams are selected for the 2004 season. Check it out at Hourglass Park in Mira Mesa on field six at 9:00 a.m.

Wednesday nights

The San Diego Hoops gay basketball league hosts open gym nights every Wednesday at the Golden Hill Recreation Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games are played until 8:45 p.m.
