The Gay & Lesbian Times is proud to have one of the biggest GLBT publication distributions on the West coast… now we are adding over 35 more red news boxes throughout the city of San Diego including La Jolla… so be on the lookout for those red boxes and pick up your issue of our award winning Gay & Lesbian Times!
We must prepare for the fight ahead of us… registering to vote is our number-one priority!
Let’s put the champagne bottles away and stop dancing in the streets over the recent victory in Massachusetts in allowing same-sex marriages. This is a step in a long road and vicious battle ahead of us… the radical right now is mobilizing more than ever to turn back our movement’s fight for equal rights… they are energized and are preparing to turn out there radical right voters in November in numbers never seen before… they are on a “crusade” to stop us. Now we of the GLBT community, families, friends and allies must mobilize and make registering to vote and turning out the GLBT vote in November our number-one priority… this upcoming election is the most important one of our lives… period.
Awards bring GLBT Latino community together

Happy anniversary to Tom and Bob of Bourbon Street!
The first annual Premios Latinos awards brought hundreds of GLBT Latinos together for one great evening at The Center… you could feel the pride and excitement in the ballroom, which was packed. For me, the outstanding entertainers of the evening were sexy Liberia who sang her heart out and was the best ever… Rossana’s campy performance had us all laughing our butts off. Special guests were the first openly gay candidate to run for office in the U.S. (in the 1960s in San Francisco), Jose Sarria, one of San Diego’s most respected and major Latina leaders, Ms. Rachel Ortiz and State Assembly candidate Lori Saldana. It was good to see Franceska receive special recognition and an award for her years of community service… all the proceeds will benefit Bienestar and the Azteca Project. Congratulations to Bacchus House who won the most awards and to all the winners. A big “thank you” to the hard workers for this successful event: Carolina Ramos, John Acosta, Angel Colonge, Jackie O, Coco LaChine, Jess San Roque, Carlos Silva and everyone involved. But all the credit goes to the founder and producer of these Latino awards, Bravo and take a bow Rafael Holguin… you deserve it and I can’t wait ‘til next year. Some suggestions: get a new sound company and hold it in the cool of winter next time… and definitely invite that outstanding Mexican Mariachi band La Barca back!
I have found the secret to taking away your wrinkles, and yes, the fountain of youth!

Brass Rail manager Hal Frost and bartender Ray Diaz.
As you all know, I am the queen of plastic surgery (thanks to the very best, Dr. Rivet), but I’m getting older and the heart is not as strong, so plastic surgery is now to be considered more seriously and carefully. But I do have the answer and alternative to plastic surgery…. I’ve discovered the Institute for Aesthetic Medicine in La Jolla and in just one visit, 45 minutes on the table, I had instant and long-lasting wrinkle correction and I’m thrilled with the outcome as I saw many of my wrinkles go away with Restylane treatment (and a little bit of Botox). The price for Restylane is very reasonable and you only have to have it done twice a year, as Restylane lasts twice as long as collagen! Restylane is a natural cosmetic filler… it’s fabulous! It is truly the fountain of youth. I will keep you posted on future work… but run, don’t walk to the Institute for Aesthetic Medicine (9339 Genesee Ave.)…. Get a free consultation and get rid of all those wrinkles and lines on your face (they also get a rid of hair). The doctor and staff are great, super friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable… they have many GLBT clients and you’ll just fall in love with Chamonix Bell, the clinic’s director. So phone (858) 678-0220 to make your free consultation appointment or to get more information… trust me, you’ll feel fabulous and look it, too!
Out Magazine names Hamburger Mary’s the hottest burger joint around!
photo
Big Mike will guest bartend this Saturday night at Club Montage.
The prestigious Out Magazine (June 2004 issue) named Hamburger Mary’s the best restaurant with the best staff and food. Did you know there are now 11 locations across the country? Hamburger Mary’s just won another Nicky Award for being one of the most popular restaurants in San Diego… so we join you and agree with you, Out Magazine… they’re number one!
