“For 19 years, Diversionary Theatre has brought us entertaining live theater featuring LGBT themes.”
Dear Editor:
Thank you for your recent articles featuring the Arts in our community. They proved especially timely as our own Diversionary Theatre forges ahead into a new chapter. We all wish departing Executive Director Chuck Zito well as he returns to New York while applauding his significant achievements at Diversionary over the last three years. Chuck and his board are implementing a thoughtful transition plan, which includes naming Jeffrey Ingman as Interim Executive Director. Jeffrey brings 20 years of successful theater experience to Diversionary. Jeffrey earned accolades for his recent productions at North County Rep, Plan B in Salt Lake City, and the Stockton Civic Theater. His most recent work was at Diversionary Theatre itself. I am looking forward to seeing Diversionary continue to grow and prosper as it seizes an opportunity to move ahead while building upon its history.
In my opinion, Diversionary Theatre is a tremendous asset to our community. Its artistic achievements are well known throughout the greater San Diego Arts Community. For 19 years, Diversionary Theatre has brought us entertaining live theater featuring LGBT themes. It gives LGBT actors, directors, teckies, volunteers, set designers, and its audience opportunities to learn about ourselves in a positive, inclusive, and professional environment. Diversionary Theatre is a great place to take a date, a partner, a friend, or a relative to enjoy quality live theater performances that examine our very being as LGBTs.
As a former board member of Diversionary, I hope more of us become members of the growing Diversionary family – as audience, actors, or volunteers. In my opinion, Diversionary Theatre has earned our continuing support. Please visit [Diversionary’s website] to learn more about this respected theater and its upcoming productions.
