The San Diego Armada Rugby Football Club is currently recruiting players. Join them every Sunday in Balboa Park for a formal practice from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the corner of Upas Street and Park Boulevard. The team also holds social practices on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Balboa Park along Sixth Avenue between Quince and Laurel streets.

The America’s Finest City Softball League season comes to a close on Sunday, July 11. The Open C Division will be playing make up games at Hourglass Park in Mira Mesa with games starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until 12:30 p.m. Bourbon Street will host an end of the season party for the Open Division from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Saturdays

The Cygnets Water Polo team welcomes new members of all skill levels. They practice at Morley Field in Balboa Park on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Bud Kearns Pool. The first practice is free.

Wednesday nights

The San Diego Hoops gay basketball league hosts open gym nights every Wednesday at the Golden Hill Recreation Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games are played until 8:45 p.m.

Weekly schedule

The Front Runners meet at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m., for 3-6 mile runs or 2-3 mile walks. The Front Runners North County chapter meets at 9:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of every month at Magee Park in Carlsbad.
