Lisl and Ward Hampton founded Travelers Depot in 1985 and opened the doors to their store in May of 1986. Travelers Depot has been a labor of love and joy for the Hamptons, bringing together millions of miles and decades of journeying and experiences into their merchandising endeavor.

Travelers Depot is a one-stop store, with thousands of travel books and maps, a discount selection of travel packs and luggage, travel clothing and a boundless supply of accessories to fit every need, from budget backpackers to luxury cruise and tour travelers of all ages. Nineteen years of happy travelers is their legacy at Travelers Depot.

Ward Hampton earned an engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin, spent several years in the Air Force, earned another degree in corporate merchandising from the University of Washington and worked as a handyman prior to opening Travelers Depot. Lisl Hampton attended an art college in Vienna, Austria and has worked as a corporate art director for several large companies.

The company has been a supporter of the GLBT community and Pride for a number of years.
