Sapphic Cinema: The Women’s Resource Center at The Center hosts a film series of works by, for and about lesbian, bisexual, transgender and feminist women. All movie nights are free and open to the public. Concessions will be available for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Women’s Resource Center. Michelle Tea: Considered one of the most important lesbian authors in America, Michelle Tea is debuting her new graphic novel with a slide show at The Voz Alta Project at 9:00 p.m. Tea, whose work has been published in anthologies and publications like Out, Girlfriends and The Stranger, brought the world Sister Spit, the all-girl open mic event that spawned the spoken-word Ramblin Roadshow. Truth and politics: In conjunction with La Jolla Playhouse’s production of David Edgar’s acclaimed two-play cycle, Continental Divide, the Playhouse concludes its series of panel discussions on topics relevant to the plays and the current political environment, hosted by San Diego’s leading journalists and writers. Comic book Mecca: Comic-Con is back! Organic music: The Spreckels Organ Society’s 17th annual International Summer Organ Festival continues its free Monday evening concerts featuring artists from around the globe bringing their unique styles to the world’s largest outdoor pipe organ at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park.
