The San Diego Police Department has said that no incidences were reported in conjunction with the annual Pride festivities, according to Dave Cohen, a spokesperson for the department. However, the death of Robert Miller, a local man who holds an annual private pool party over Pride weekend, has caused a stir within the gay community. According to Cohen, police responded to a call from Miller’s home on Sunday morning, Aug. 1, at 6:39 a.m. after friends of Miller’s discovered his body at the bottom of his pool.
Homicide is not investigating the death at this time, but the medical examiner’s office has not ruled on an official cause of death and is awaiting the results of a toxicology report on Miller’s body. The results of that report are not expected for another two weeks.
