Russell S. Okihara, D.M.D., started his dental practice in Hillcrest in 1982 after completing two years with Public Health Services. Dr. Okihara completed his undergraduate work at the University of Oregon and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts. His approach to dentistry is to provide his patients with knowledge of their oral conditions through an extensive initial exam, which allows the patient and doctor to build a relationship and achieve the highest level of care.

Dr. Okihara practices general and cosmetic dentistry, which includes veneers, porcelain crowns, bonding, fillings, bridges, tooth whitening and night guards. His purpose is to serve his patients in a nurturing, compassionate and healthy environment. He strives to enhance the appearance and quality of life of his patients.

He is a member of many dental associations, as well as a member of the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation. His hobbies include classic cars (old and new), working out to stay healthy, and cooking. He is an active supporter of the gay and lesbian community.
