After spending 20 years working as a human resources executive, Pamela J. Alexandra became a psychotherapist and has been practicing now for 14 years. Alexandra experienced firsthand the transforming help of a psychotherapist when she encountered her own relationship problems, and the experience compelled her to study and become a therapist so she could help others in the same way.

Alexandra’s practice centers around helping gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients heal past hurts, experience loving relationships and find fulfilling careers. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, one of the many methods that relieve pain from past experiences that are still intruding in client’s current life. Alexandra draws on her experience in the field of human resources to help clients find fulfilling careers. She also provides relationship counseling for singles as well as couples.

Alexandra lives with her partner, mother, three dogs, pet rabbit and bird in her Kensington home. She has a passion for growth and helping others experience the happy life that they deserve. Her other interests included travel, real estate, investing and fine dining. Her favorite destination is Cancun, Mexico, where she and her partner relax and recharge several times a year.

“I have enjoyed serving the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community since 1989 as a counselor specializing in our community,” Alexandra said. “I have done volunteer work and workshops at Metropolitan Community Church, Pacific Church of Religious Science and Midtown Church of Religious Science – all serving the LGBT community. I also wrote a relationship column in the newsletter for San Diego Career Women. The LGBT community has provided me with incredible support, friendships and professional opportunities.”
