The David Alan Collection evolved from blending the great passions of David Bardwick’s life: his love of art, design and furniture, and a long-standing appreciation for third-world craft and artistry.

Customers at the David Alan Collection can find intricately carved headboards, antique Chinese armoires, Indonesian sleds hand crafted from the heaviest woods, centuries old pottery, one-of-a-kind partitioning screens, functional accessories and more, but always allows you to bring the far East into your home, office or garden with exceptionally unique pieces. You could call them Asian Fusion or Tropical Modern; as a collection, the pieces of the David Alan Collection incorporate contemporary, primitive, European, Nouveau, Deco and rustic works from overseas in an easy blend of styles and eras.

Opening the David Alan Collection was the next logical step for a man who has a degree in art, owned a high-end wood business – Cut & Dried Hardwood – for nearly two decades and was once an owner of the Trios art gallery.

Bardwick has always remained heavily involved in the community, whether it be for business or personal reasons. He has been a member of the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce board of directors, a member and former president of the Cedros Design District Merchant Association as well as member of the Mala Shock Dance board of directors. Additionally, Bardwick supports causes dear to his heart by hosting numerous fundraising dinners at his home and getting involved. He has served as a Hunger Project volunteer for 10 years, leading seminars for several thousand people. Together with his wife, Bardwick has founded and funded the Alpha Public School in New Dehli, India, a private school in its second year with a current enrollment of 125 students. His contributions to the nonprofit community extend to include a variety of organizations.
