Community Coalition Breakfast: The Center holds its monthly Community Coalition Breakfast on the third Friday of every month, starting promptly at 7:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Low budget, high concept: This year’s Hilo Film Festival is in town, through Sunday, at St. Cecilia’s Playhouse, featuring 15 hilarious low budget, high concept films curated by Killing My Lobster in San Francisco. Scouting for All Rally: The San Diego GLBT community and its allies are invited to the fifth annual Scouting for All Rally, taking place at 11:00 a.m. at the Desert Pacific Council Camp (San Diego Boy Scouts headquarters) in Balboa Park, located on Upas Street near the zoo. Gay Day in South Bay: The annual community “mini-Pride” event returns to Heritage Park in Otay Ranch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sponsored by Family Matters, Gay Day in South Bay provides entertainment for kids and is open to all, but is ideal for those that live in the South Bay and want to get to know others in their community. Free film: The San Diego Central Library screens The Barbarian Invasion as part of its ongoing free film series. The film revisits, some 15 years later, the principal characters of Deny Arcand’s 1986 drama The Decline of the American Empire, including a merry band of folk from the lead character’s past. Gay day at Del Mar Races: The Center has reserved a Celebrity Suite at the Del Mar Racetrack for the Front & Center Club to enjoy a day at the races in style. Bourbon and Blue Velvet: Mama’s Kitchen and Bourbon Street present their ninth annual wine tasting event, a fundraiser for Mama’s called “Bourbon & Blue Velvet”. The event features the cabaret music of the Blue Velvet trio, a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres. Southern Wine and Spirits will sample four different types of wine throughout the evening.
