Dr. Mihir (Max) Parikh, M.D. is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has completed two fellowships in cornea, refractive, and anterior segment surgery. He is the Official Team Ophthalmologist of the San Diego Chargers and is responsible for all their eye care needs. He is a highly trained and educated refractive eye surgeon experienced in the most advanced surgical procedures. He has performed thousands of surgical procedures and specializes in LASIK, PRK, LASEK, Cataracts, Intraocular Lenses, Custom LASIK and Wave Front technology, Intacs, and CK for the treatment of nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia (reading glasses).

Dr. Parikh graduated Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Irvine and received his medical degree from University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Parikh completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the New York University Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Parikh is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Parikh has performed thousands of successful LASIK and refractive procedures, and was one of the first west coast surgeons trained in Custom Wave Front treatment technology; the latest refractive procedures shown to help achieve best-corrected vision.

Having undergone LASIK surgery himself, Dr. Parikh is uniquely qualified to address questions or concerns his patients may have about refractive surgery. He is also the Chief Ophthalmologist for the Pauma Valley American Indians, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at University of California San Diego, and is a staff ophthalmologist at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, Pomerado Hospital, and UCSD Medical Center.
