As a prelude to the fun and festivities of San Diego’s Gay Pride event at the end of July, Front Runners San Diego, in partnership with the San Diego Art Institute, is hosting a Pre-Pride Mixer on June 28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the San Diego Art Institute, located in Balboa Park at 1439 El Prado. This free event is a social mixer open to the entire community with the goal of supporting and promoting athletics and the arts and reaching out to two community groups, Gay Youth Alliance and Ebony Pride. The program will include a silent auction, light hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and a fashion show from the gay youth.

Bourbon Street will serve as a community sponsor and a silent auction will feature such items as hand-blown glass, hand-crafted fine silver jewelry, artwork from gay youth, as well as services, including massage, computer consultation, language instruction, and rug cleaning. In addition, artwork from the San Diego Art Institute’s very popular Summer C-Note Sale will be available for purchase.

This semi-annual sale features artwork from local artists priced at $100, $200 or $300. Enjoy a night on the town and celebrate and support art, athletics, and community outreach. Proceeds support Front Runners, the Gay Youth Alliance, Ebony Pride, and the San Diego Art Institute.
