The Center for Health & Wellbeing, a medical facility dedicated to the prevention of illness and the achievement of optimal health and total wellness through the integration of traditional and complementary/alternative therapies, welcomes Dr. Robert “Bob” Smith to their new Hillcrest office. Dr. Smith will emphasize family practice for the GLBT community, as well as HIV care and management.

Dr. Smith was born in San Diego and attended medical school at Loma Linda University, where he received his training in family practice. He has been practicing medicine for 45 years, beginning his professional medical career in Chula Vista. In 1991, he opened the Robert Smith Medical Group in Hillcrest. There he emphasized family practice for the GLBT community, with particular emphasis on HIV care and management.

He comes to the Center for Health & WellBeing after selling his practice, but will continue his emphasis on HIV care and management for the GLBT community.

“Dr. Bob” has lived with his life partner, Jerry Peterson, of Jerry and David’s Cruises and Tours, for 37 years. They both share a great love of the sea, spending as much time as possible aboard their boat or traveling aboard ship.
