Could this man win?: Rally for presidential candidate Howard Dean today at 9:00 a.m. in Trolley Barn Park, Adams Ave. at Florida St. in University Heights. A Caribbean Tempest: A Tempest, a gripping and explosive contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic The Tempest, weaves a similar tale of power and revenge set against the physical and political backdrop of the author’s native Caribbean homeland. Iris Theatre navigates the challenging task of bringing this ambitious work to the stage at the Academy of Performing Arts in Mission Valley. Animated by a dynamic cast of actors and dancers and featuring live Afro-Cuban drumming and Calypso rhythms, this modern fantasy is driven by electric imagery. A Tempest shows tonight at 7:00 pm.
