Don’t feel like cooking on Thanksgiving? Check out these local restaurants for great holiday Thanksgiving dinners! All the fun without the stress, clean up or kitchen fires!
The Amigo Spot Restaurant: Open for Thanksgiving dinner from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. What Thanksgiving Day holiday meal would be complete without the requisite turkey and all of the trimmings? You’ll find the answer at The Amigo Spot at The King’s Inn Hotel, located at 1333 Hotel Circle. You can also delight in the sounds of a Flamenco Guitarist from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Please phone for reservations at (619) 297-2231.
Brians’ American Eatery: Open Thanksgiving Day from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a four course holiday menu only. You can choose from roast turkey with apple sage dressing, shallot crusted prime rib, or honey dijon baked ham. For $19.95 per person you can chow down on the aforementioned choice of entrees plus two side dishes. And if there’s room for dessert (and you know there is!), either an apple crisp or the more traditional offering of pumpkin pie is yours for the taking. To wash down your palate: ice tea, coffee and soft drinks are included in the price. For wine drinkers, you may also purchase a bottle of R.H. Philips Toasted Head Merlot or Chardonnay for $20.00.

Café Eleven: Join Café Eleven for their Thanksgiving Day dinner Nov. 26 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. They will be serving their traditional Turkey with all the trimmings including apple and sage dressing, sweet potato and fresh cranberry salad for $18.95. If you crave something besides Turkey, the menu will include alternative entrées to choose from.
City Deli: Come eat with friends at City Deli, 535 University Ave. this Thanksgiving Day. They will be serving up a traditional holiday meal all day long. Those who like to prepare ahead, they are also accepting advance orders for holiday pies. (619) 295-2747.
Crest Café: Can’t be bothered with the worries of making one more stack of pancakes, or the intricacies of getting omelets just right for family or friends the morning of Thanksgiving? Well, fear not! For the first time in 22 years, Crest Cafe will be open for breakfast (and lunch) on Thanksgiving Day from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to help ease your culinary woes. The Crest Café is located at 425 Robinson Ave. (619) 295-2510.
Hilton Gaslamp Quarter: The New Leaf Restaurant, located at The Hilton Gaslamp Quarter, is providing a trendy alternative to the traditional. Roasted turkey with orange and thyme essence, yukon gold mashed potatoes, sweet caramelized baked yams and so much more. 401 K Street (between Fourth and Fifth). Lumberjack Grille: Adults (60+) and kids (12 and under) alike can enjoy a bounty of Thanksgiving goodness for only $10.95. Those not within those age parameters, fear not. $12.95 will get you a turkey dinner, soup or salad, a non-alcoholic beverage, and of course, pie. The Lumberjack Grille is located at 3949 Ohio St. and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving. (619) 294-3804.
