Too Much Information: T.M.I. (Too Much Information) presents San Francisco-based author Michelle Tea and San Diego-based writer/performance artist Nancy Navarrete at 6:30 p.m. at the Voltaire Street Space, located at 4862 Voltaire St. in Ocean Beach. T.M.I. is a queer feminist reading series and open mic, hosted by Anna Joy Springer and Jenny Donovan. The Scottish Play: The third of three nights of theater for The Center’s Front and Center Club at The La Jolla Playhouse concludes with The Scottish Play, a world premiere comedy in which the “Macbeth” curse brings hilarious toil and trouble to an unsuspecting director. The inaugural production takes place in the Playhouse’s new Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theater. Performance begins at 8:00 p.m. A pre-show reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $39-$46. That Sedaris time of year: Cygnet Theatre presents two shows for the holidays, The Book of Liz, written by David and Amy Sedaris, and Santaland Diaries, by David Sedaris. The world’s first Amish picaresque, according to Village Voice, The Book of Liz plays Nov. 20 to Dec. 23. The Santaland Diaries begins Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 20. Last stand: Claire de Lune hosts North Park’s premiere comedy venue every Saturday at 9:00 p.m., featuring host Christian Shirm and some of the most talented comics in Southern California. Indonesian relics: A unique display of world folk art at Mingei International Museum features some forbidding components in its exhibition entitled “Elemental Art of Indonesia”, which boasts an assortment of ancestor shrines and ancestor figures – one of the largest collections of funerary objects in a museum. Also on exhibit are demon masks from Bali, origami dragons and skulls, and a painting of The Death of Buddha. The Mingei International Museum is located at 1439 El Prado in Balboa Park. Go Crazy: An adaptation of George and Ira Gershwin’s 1930 hit Girl Crazy comes to San Diego’s Civic Theatre Nov. 22-28. Filled with standards like “I’ve Got Rhythm”, “Embraceable You” and “Someone To Watch Over Me”, Crazy For You is a hilarious romp of a stage-struck playboy in a Nevada mining town, replete with romance, mistaken identities and show-stopping musical numbers. Arco Iris Lounge: A GLBT Latino/youth of color discussion and action group takes place at the Voz Alta space from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The gathering, which takes place the second and fourth Monday of every month, is called Arco Iris Lounge, and welcomes youth 24 and under and their friends and family to mingle and network. Friends chill: Every Tuesday night starting at 9:00 p.m., the Whistle Stop opens up the game cupboard and lets the drink specials flow for Friends Chill, an evening of Monopoly, chess and other board games, good jukebox music and extended happy hour prices. Ice-skating: It’s that time of year again, when Horton Plaza decks itself out with holiday lights and its annual ice-skating rink. Diversionary Theatre’s latest production, Fit to be Tied, follows the life of fabulously wealth Arloc Simpson, whose un-motherly mother and narcoleptic former boyfriend ensure that, though he’s desperately lonely, he isn’t alone.
