Service for tsunami disaster: In response to the horrific South Asia earthquake and tsunami disaster, Metropolitan Community Church of San Diego invites the entire community to a special Service of Reflection and Hope taking place at 7:00 p.m. at The Center. MCC Associate Pastor Dan Koeshall said the service will be a time for everyone to “share grief, pray and find solace and hope in the midst of tragedy.” Voluntary donations will be accepted for humanitarian relief efforts. Sisters in Crime: Fresh from his successful prosecution of a murder that had gone unsolved for 18 years, Deputy District Attorney Jeff Dusek speaks about the county’s Cold Case Homicide Division at the monthly meeting of Sisters in Crime, a group of writers and readers of mysteries that meets on the first Thursday of the month. Known for prosecuting David Westerfield in the murder of Danielle Van Dam, Dusek will speak at the group’s monthly meeting, held at 7:00 p.m. at the Joyce Beers Community Center.
