“I couldn’t agree more with Jay Murley.”
Dear Editor:
I couldn’t agree more with Jay Murley. As a CPR/FIRST AIDE instructor I am more than happy to assist the author of that letter in setting up program for more easily accessible training.

“Nicole got caught and is doing everything he can to cover his tracks…”
Dear Editor:
Nicole loves to twist things to his favor and I’m glad that Nicole is in a giving of information mood. To clear one thing up, I never said Nicole was a director or producer of the new gay night at a strip club (my shows are posted to my internet site – easy to check) I simply inquired that if he didn’t have an interest in the club why was he involved in the hiring process.
How did I draw that logical conclusion? In Issue 889 (January 6, 2005) Nicole listed two telephone numbers for men 18 and over to call if they were interested in dancing. I wanted to talk to someone dealing with this club before I went on air to say anything about a gay strip club. The second telephone number listed was (619) 823-8466, that number went to a voice mail owned by Nicole Murray Ramirez (I taped the voice mail because I knew after I exposed it as belonging to Nicole it would soon be erased). My suspicions were valid as the number listed in Issue 889 is disconnected. How inconvenient for those young men who want to ruin their lives dancing naked for the world to see.
Even more dubious than the fact that the number is now out of service is the timing; right after I made my comments on air and contacted the police chief about his gay advisory board chairman’s connection to the club.
Nicole’s column in issue 890 actually raises more questions than it answers: if Nicole were not involved in hiring for this club why was a number with his name and voice mail associated with it disconnected? Why the new definition of lap dancers? And even more interesting to the timing is that Nicole’s “clarification” about things I didn’t say came out after the police chief issued a statement saying that Nicole agreed that his connection to the club would be a conflict, even if all he did was emcee events there. He agreed that it was a conflict and wouldn’t even emcee.
What happened is easy: Nicole got caught and is doing everything he can to cover his tracks, but in a new change of events in the gay community – people are paying attention to public figures in this community and as long as someone puts a column out every week and is never called to task for things he writes and as long as facts remain unchecked by your paper, it is left to others to find them out.
Nicole writes every week without challenge – calling people names, lashing out at those he dislikes in very personal ways, impugning people’s integrity and making charges that are not based on fact; those days are over. If the Gay & Lesbian Times won’t fact check Nicole – I will. When Nicole has a conflict of interest (that he is not afraid to accuse others of) I will point them out.
There is a new generation of checks and balances for “the community” in San Diego and I’m happy to be part of it.

“One of the concept JBX stores is located in the Heart of a big gay community called Hillcrest in San Diego.”
Dear Editor:
You may have seen the following commercial for jack in the box current commercial Jack is working out at the gym and comments “why am I am looking at that guy, I like women” and then he looks and comments on a female in the female. One of the concept JBX stores is located in the Heart of a big gay community called Hillcrest in San Diego. That commercial is very homophobic.

“What do we do when our loins have officially cooled and we adopt a more ‘suburban’ lifestyle?”
Dear Editor:
As a gay man living in San Diego I have often wondered what happens to a party boy when he retires? At 31 I have long since given up my desire to booze and carouse as I did in my early twenties. What do we do when our loins have officially cooled and we adopt a more “suburban” lifestyle? I do go out from time to time but it just doesn’t feel the same anymore.
Now, I feel “all grown up”. At 9:30 on a Saturday night once I’m in my jammies it’s nighty, night Emily. (Sigh) I don’t exactly remember when I traded in Madonna for Martha but I definitely feel like a 60yr old trapped in a 25 yr old’s body. (Yes, that’s right a twenty-five-year-old’s body!) So, have any of your readers ever mentioned this before or am I the first? (Ugh)
I’m curious to hear your response!

“Might want to consider an article of fitness that focuses on the client and their goals rather than the biceps of the trainer.”
Dear Editor:
I wanted to commend you on your article on fitness by Christ Keith, it was one of the few realistic, honest, and direct pieces on fitness I have seen in a while. I also wanted to comment however that the pics just did NOT go with the article. Not sure if the emphasis should have been on fitness or the potential fitness model potential of the guy in the foreground, sure was NOT on the client as he was both blurred out, and rather uncertain, seemed like more of a prop than a client. Might want to consider an article of fitness that focuses on the client and their goals rather than the biceps of the trainer.
