Wear yourself out: Naked? Let San Diego designers dress you. On the first Friday of every month from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wearhaus hosts a showcase of original clothing and accessories by some of San Diego’s most talented local artists and designers. The event features manicures, shopping, drink specials and free food, and takes place at Martini Ranch, located at 528 F St. Call (619) 235-6100 for further details.
Local beer night: Shhh… don’t tell too many people about the Liar’s Club in Mission Beach. They might drink all the good local beer, pulled for $2.50 a pint every Friday. With over 20 beers on tap and a full bar, plus a punk rock-inspired jukebox and some of the best food on the beach (seared ahi sandwiches, burgers, beer-batter onion rings, sweet potato fries and Stone Smoked Porter cheesecake, to name a few), this is truly one of San Diego’s best-kept secrets. The Liar’s Club is located at 3844 Mission Blvd. in Mission Beach. Call (858) 488-2340 for what’s on tap this week.
Saturday, 5
Blacks in the Ballpark District Tour: Way before the Padres’ ballpark was built downtown, San Diego’s black community formed a vibrant and prosperous core at the end of the 19th century. The 75-minute walking tour begins at 1:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Gaslamp Plaza Suites at Fifth Avenue and E Street, and ends at Petco Park for a viewing of the Blacks in the Ballpark District exhibit. Cost is free. Call (619) 685-7215 for more information.
Perplexed? Try this: The Flying Karamazovs, a quartet of faux Russians who spice up a two-hour theater sideshow by adding narration, a story line and audience participation, are back in San Diego after a 13-year absence in Life: A Guide for the Perplexed, which plays through Feb. 6 at the Lyceum Theatre in Horton Plaza. Shows Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $26.50-$41.50. For tickets and additional information, call (619) 544-1000.

The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $5-$9. Call (619) 232-3821 for more information.

Unbought and unbossed: The first-ever run by a woman and person of color for presidential nomination was no laughing matter, nor was it a polite exercise in symbolic electioneering. In honor of Black History Month, the documentary film Chisholm ’72 – Unbought & Unbossed screens at 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of the City of San Diego Central Library, located at 820 E St. Admission is free. Carol Kennedy, a professor of political science at SDSU, will facilitate a discussion after the film. Call (619) 236-5800 for more information.
