The weather reports are already saying that it’s going to be a hot day at this year’s Pride parade, and drinking plenty of water to stay cool is the order of the day. Thanks to members of the America’s Finest City Softball League (AFCSL), there will be plenty of water on hand as they take to the parade route to sell water to raise money for five of the teams traveling to the gay softball world series in Washington, D.C., this year.

Representing San Diego in the Open A Division in D.C. will be the Moby Dick’s/Aguron Hitmen, and in the B Division it will be Extasis. Moby Dick’s Trojans, who took first place in the C Division, will also be representing San Diego along with the Brians’/Pecs Bears, who earned a berth to the series by going undefeated in a one day mini-tournament against the Viejas Fire and Shameless to determine the fourth team that would represent San Diego in the open division at the series.

In the Women’s division, Moby Dick’s Last Call will be representing San Diego in the competitive division and Aberration will be playing in the alternative division.

“San Diego Pride has been a great fundraising effort for our teams,” said Open Division Commissioner Jim Costello. “This is our seventh or eighth year selling water during the Pride Parade. Suanne (Pauley) and the entire Pride committee of workers and volunteers are wonderful to work with; they have been the backbone of our success over the years. We look forward to many more years of a successful partnership.”

The teams participating this year include Brians’/Pecs Bears, Moby Dick’s Trojans, Aberration, Moby Dick’s Last Call and the Pharmboys. All of the teams wish to thank their sponsors and Pride for their support this year.
