Ke Kumu is an organization dedicated to alternative healthcare, healing, self-improvement, spiritual understanding and education. Multiple forms of alternative care are available. Ed Kaleolani Spencer began as a registered nurse, then expanded his understanding of the body, mind and spirit to optimize health and life. He is a Kahu o mana in the ancient healing arts of Hawaii, as well as a Gestalt therapist, cranial sacral therapist, Rolfer and bio-energetist who has conducted training programs on various forms of bodywork, counseling, healthcare, substance abuse and self improvement across the United States.

The bodywork styles available increase performance, promote higher energy levels, well balanced movement and can provide relief from chronic pain and injuries. HIV treatment may be enhanced and fees for people who are HIV positive are set to be workable for each person. “I have never turned away any positive person over money,” Spencer said.

Spencer has been in private practice for 30 years, and has consulted with hospitals, government agencies and universities to develop integrated care programs and education programs. He is the founder of Hawaiian Energetics, Ke Kumu, Integrative Therapies and co-founder of the AIDS Alternative Health Project.

“Having been around for the effects of Stonewall, at the beging of the AIDS crisis, and out in every way for 35 years, this is my community,” he said. “I believe each of us must support and promote each other to insure a solid, healthy community and

family.”
