Meet ’n’ greet and slave auction: Contestants for Mr. San Diego Leather 2005 will be present, as well as the judges, including Mr. IML (International Mr. Leather) Jason Hendrix and head judge Paul Ciantar, Mr. Canadian Leatherman 2004. Mr. San Diego Leather 2005: The Center hosts the 21st annual Mr. San Diego Leather Contest. Proceeds benefit Being Alive San Diego. Mr. IML 2004 Jason Hendrix is master of ceremonies, as Adam Latham, Mr. San Diego Leather 2004, steps down when the new Mr. San Diego Leather is chosen. General admission is $15. VIP admission is $20, which includes early admission reception and buffet at 5:00 p.m., and VIP reception at the contest. VIP reception at 5:00 p.m., contest begins at 6:00 p.m. (619) 692-2077.
Ray At Night: The second Saturday of every month is Ray At Night on Ray Street in North Park, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Multiple galleries stay open late, featuring live music, beverages and refreshments. The free event is located on Ray Street between University Avenue and North Park Way.

St. Patrick’s Day parade: The 25th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. at Sixth Avenue and Juniper Street. A festival takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. between Sixth Avenue and Balboa Drive, and Laurel and Olive streets in Balboa Park. Presented by Guinness, the parade features two entertainment stages and a kid’s zone, as well as Irish crafts, a beer garden and Irish food. Admission is free. (858) 677-7790.

Latino film festival: The San Diego Latino Film Festival runs March 10-20 at the Mann Hazard Center 7. This year’s films and videos celebrate the stories, joys, hardships and life in general in Latino culture. Admission is $8.50 per film, $6.50 for students and seniors. (619) 291-7040.
Poor Superman: Diversionary Theatre’s latest, Poor Superman, follows artist David McMillan, who steps out of his life of fame and fortune to return to his working class roots, where he takes a job as a waiter. Einstein’s miracle year: 1905 is known as a “miracle year” for the revolution of physics, as Albert Einstein wrote five revolutionary scientific papers that year. The Reuben H. Auto-care basics: Get informed about the basics of car care at a Women’s Resource Center workshop taking place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at The Center. Angela, a certified mechanic, will teach attendees everything from assembling the proper tool kit to identifying car problems by sounds, smells and symptoms. Tue$ Nite Out: Tue$ Nite Out is a collection of Hillcrest restaurants, bars and retailers offering what they have – for less – every Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Participating establishments place a Tue$ Nite Out sign in their window to aid in your quest for all things good and cheap. Get your green on: The Gaslamp Quarter’s annual block party featuring traditional Irish bands and dancers, disco and classic rock bands, complete with oceans of green beer and Irish food, will be covered with acres of emerald-green astro turf. Rainbow scrapbook divas: The Diva Craft Lounge holds a scrapbooking event for the GLBT community on the third Thursday of every month from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. Called Rainbow Crop, this is a social event where scrapbookers gather to crop their photos and work on their scrapbooks in a GLBT-friendly environment.
