Earl Storm has been a passionate student and teacher of The Artist’s Way since 1995. This year marks the 10th anniversary of bringing artists and creatives together to keep their art alive and moving forward.

“What brought me to the course in 1995 was my own trials and tribulations that I was going through as a cartoonist,” Storm said. “The Artist’s Way had such a positive impact upon my life, personally and professionally, that I felt called to share it with other artists.”

Today, Storm has a full practice around this body of work, a course that is taught in three tracks: The Creative Community, The Business Community and The HIV/AIDS and Recovery Communities.

“It was through The Artist’s Way that my lifelong dream of having a nationally syndicated cartoon strip became a reality,” Storm said. His cartoon strip “QUACK CITY!” can be seen in over 150 cities.

The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron is considered by many to be the quintessential book on creativity. Since its publication in 1992, it has transformed creative lives throughout the world. Storm was trained by the authors, and is the only certified facilitator in Southern California.

“In a nutshell, this creativity course playfully and artfully validates the challenges and celebrations of the creative process,” Storm said. “Artists, non-artists, business professionals and creatives alike come to this course to live a life filled with passion, play and imagination.”

A San Diego native, Storm and his husband, Ernie Elliott, have been together for over eight years.

“As an out man since 1977 here in San Diego, my life and history are here in village of Hillcrest, [which] is quite colorful to say the least,” Storm said. “My involvement with many organizations and social concerns led me to volunteer my time at many LGBT, HIV/AIDS and recovery organizations to help keep our LGBT community creative and vibrant.”
