The annual San Diego Democratic Club’s annual Pride reception and fundraiser will be held Friday, July 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the courtyard of Casa del Prado in Balboa Park. The cost is $45 and proceeds will benefit the Christine Kehoe for State Senate campaign.

“As a member of the LGBT community, Christine Kehoe has taken the lead in advocating for our civil rights in the State Assembly,” said Jess Durfee, SDDC President. “She now has the opportunity to advance to the state Senate. We invite everyone going to the Pride Spirit of Stonewall Rally at 7:30 that evening to come to the reception first and help Christine get elected.”

The reception venue is within easy walking distance of the Organ Pavilion, where the Spirit of Stonewall Rally will be held.

Kehoe is seeking election to the 39th District state Senate seat, which represents the western two-thirds of the city of San Diego, all of the cities of Del Mar and Lemon Grove, and adjacent unincorporated parts of the county. The district is currently represented by Dede Alpert, who cannot run for reelection due to term limits. The primarily gay and lesbian SDDC endorsed Kehoe in January.
