Long-time civil rights and political activist City Commissioner Nicole M. Ramirez has been elected vice chair of San Diego’s Human Relations Commission. The commission, which is appointed by the mayor and City Council, is made up of civic, religious and ethnic leaders. Ramirez has also been elected to the state executive board of the Equality California Institute and is the immediate past state chair of Equality California.
