Based in Hillcrest, Ox & Olive was grown from Eddie Wheatley’s decades of traditional painting experience and Jen Guerin’s passion for art, order and a highly customized experience. The custom painting and faux finish experts handle jobs of all sizes, from entire houses to single walls or staircase banisters. Their painting techniques include Venetian plaster, color blocking, trompe l’oeil, vertical striping and American clay.

The painting company’s nearly all-female staff (co-owner Wheatley is the only other male on staff) specializes in custom interior residential painting with an emphasis on specialty techniques including faux finishes, murals and decorative plaster. Other services include full color consultations for interior and specialty exterior projects.

Additionally, each Ox & Olive team member is qualified to custom tint. Each painter on staff can custom tint paint on site. With Ox & Olive, customers are often astonished that their painting job has turned into a work of art.

Guerin holds a degree in art and Wheatley started painting 30 years ago. Bringing these two strengths together has provided Ox & Olive just the right amount of yin and yang.

Committed to contributing back to the community, Ox & Olive donates paint to San Diego schools for their art programs. The painters are also currently in talks with local women’s organization’s to help provide women in need with the opportunity to paint. Guerin and Wheatley are also members of the GSDBA, and Guerin is in the Wednesday morning networking group. Guerin is a member of the International Association of Color Consultants.
