J.R. Mooney Electric, which began two years ago, covers all areas of electrical work. Raised on the largest Native American reservation in California, Mooney, whose mother is Native American and father is Irish, comes from a cattle-raising family with a construction background. “I grew up working hard and still do,” he said, adding that he grew up with very little money and joined the United States Marine Corps to get off the reservation.

Mooney said he enjoys talking with young people and encouraging them to keep trying to make their dreams into reality, “to keep fighting for the good things in this life,” he added.
