Cathy Sabater is a licensed real estate consultant and direct mortgage lender with Home Capital Properties who has been buying and selling real estate for the past 12 years. “I truly enjoy helping families invest in their homes,” she said. “San Diego is a great place to live and invest in a home.”

Sabater said she believes in building long-term relationships with her clients, and does not just refinance clients simply because they want to consolidate their bills. Her goal is to have clients refinance to leverage their funds and invest in additional property, and to provide short and long-term goal planning. She provides free home-buying seminars and enjoys assisting first-time home buyers. “I provide a one-stop shop, because I can process your loans to help you invest in property,” she said. “If you have low credit scores, then I have resources to assist us in building your credit – and in the meantime, we develop your goals for attaining property in San Diego. My specialty is providing my clients [with] trust. They can trust me to put their interests first.”

Sabater, who has been with her domestic partner, Lois, for seven years, describes herself as a happy-go-lucky individual who loves to play racquetball and basketball. The couple “enjoys the little things in life that bring us joy,” she said.

In her spare time, Sabater volunteers for the San Carlos Recreation Department, assisting with coaching, motivation and teaching team-building skills. “I truly enjoy teaching the high school students in the Advancement Via Individual Achievement [AVID program],” she said. “We provide an eight-week lesson plan, and on the final week the students come to Home Capital Properties for a real-life interview. We stage the interviews to 15 minutes, and each student participates with a minimum of four interviews. This is one of the most enlightening events – when you see the students actually utilizing the success skills we’ve taught them over the past seven weeks.”
