San Diego Hoops Basketball League
Wednesday nights
The San Diego Hoops gay basketball league regular season play has begun. Games take place every Wed. night at the Golden Hill Recreation Center. The first of four games each night tips off at 6:00 p.m. and games continue through 10:00 p.m.
SD Bulldogs wrestling practice
Weekly schedule
The San Diego Bulldogs offer two practices a week at The Center. Sunday practices take place from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. All practices take place in the auditorium of The Center. For more information, call (619) 491-4747.
Front Runners & Walkers San Diego
Weekly schedule
The Front Runners & Walkers meet at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m., for 3-6 mile runs or 2-3 mile walks. The Front Runners North County chapter meets at 9:00 a.m. on every Saturday at Magee Park in Carlsbad.
Armada Rugby Football Club
Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays
The San Diego Armada Rugby Football Club is recruiting players. Join them every Sunday in Balboa Park for a formal practice from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans War Memorial Building in Balboa Park. The team also holds practices on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Robb Field in Ocean Beach.
Rainbow Volleyball Alliance
Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays
The Rainbow Volleyball Alliance takes over the Balboa Gym Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday afternoons they set up courts along Sixth Avenue.
Sparks Soccer season
Sundays and Fridays
The San Diego Sparks soccer team takes to the field every week in the San Diego County Soccer League. Prospective players are also invited to come out and join the team for their weekly practices at Robb Field in Ocean Beach on Friday nights at 6:00 p.m.
Yoga
Mondays and Thursdays
The Center offers a free yoga class every Monday at 1:00 p.m. and every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat or pillow if you have sensitive joints. No previous experience in yoga or related discipline is required.
