Beautiful Thing: Diversionary Theatre presents a heartwarming story of two London boys who fall in love during a hot summer in a southeast London housing project. Mozart and More: In celebration of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 250th birthday, the San Diego Opera Ensemble presents an evening of arias and ensembles from the world of opera. Wild Jammin’ Women workshop: Learn to accompany yourself on the mountain dulcimer, ukulele, guitar or banjo with only two simple chords. Loaner instruments are available for sampling. Cat show: Like cats? This show will feature a cat agility performance, which is a first for Southern California. The Cat Show takes place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds exhibit hall on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $7 and parking is $8. Bob DylanDon’t Look Back: The Old Globe presents a free screening of the 1967 Bob Dylan documentary at 7:00 p.m. in the Old Globe Theatre. The screening takes place in conjunction with the Broadway musical The Times They are A-Changin’, which opened at the Globe on Jan. 25. The film takes an intimate glimpse of the rock legend during a three-week concert tour of England in the spring of 1965. Admission is free and seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tegan and Sara: Canadian twin lesbian rockers take the stage at the House of Blues as an opening act for Cake. The duo is promoting their latest album, So Jealous, released in 2004. GENOME exhibit: The San Diego Natural History Museum hosts “GENOME: The Secret of How Life Works,” a traveling exhibition, from Jan. 28 through May 1. The 5,000-square-foot exhibition explores the human genome – a person’s entire set of genes – to reveal the mysteries of genes, delineate the last two centuries of discovery, and unravel the implications of gene therapy for the future of medical science and healthcare. The Sky Tonight: On the first Wednesday of every month, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center planetarium presents “The Sky Tonight” at 7:00 p.m. The show is geared toward backyard astronomers, children and anyone who wants to impress their date while stargazing.
