Medical director Janette Gray, M.D., a board certified internist who trained at the University of California, San Francisco, has practiced medicine in San Diego for nearly a decade. As an internist, she has a strong appreciation for the scientific model of disease, but over the years has also seen how modern medicine has failed, or at least disappointed, many individuals in their search for better health. Dr. Gray believes in an integrative and holistic approach to patient treatment, and that is what led her to develop the concept for the Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHWB).

CHWB is dedicated to the prevention of illness and the achievement of optimal health and total wellness through the integration of conventional medicine with alternative and complementary therapies. Dr. Gray has assembled a team of health care practitioners under her supervision, who guide patients through the health care maze and toward a state of optimal health and wellbeing.

CHWB takes a proactive approach to health care by ensuring that the entire person, rather than individual symptoms, is the focus of treatment. Proper diagnosis and treatment is achieved by learning about the person along with the environmental, social and emotional factors that may cause distress and discomfort. The center understands that achieving optimal health and longevity involves healing all aspects of a person. That’s why their therapies address the body, mind and spirit.

The Center for Health and Wellbeing offers acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, reflexology, and skin and body care, as well as weekly tai chi, yoga and Pilates classes. Dr. Gray is a primary care physician and acts as a gatekeeper to these services. She accepts a wide variety of HMO and PPO insurance plans.
