Fiesta Fridays: Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style in historic Old Town. Café Coyote, Fred’s Mexican Café, Old Town Mexican Café, Spicy Mexican Grill and Zócalo Grill will be the hot spots for great happy-hour specials and live entertainment set in a festive atmosphere. Women’s mixer: Down a margarita and join the gals for a Cinco de Mayo celebration at Six Degrees. The event is part of a new community social group called “Women’s Out & About in San Diego,” which seeks to bring women of all backgrounds together for social events and gatherings. Fiesta Cinco de Mayo: The festival in Old Town features more than 200 performers at eight venues of entertainment and a traditional Mexican Mercado filled with 100 specialty booths featuring handmade crafts and regional cuisine. The free festival takes place Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7, from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. at the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. (619) 296-3236.
The Center Women’s Night: The Center’s fourth annual Women’s Night, themed “Dance of the Seven Veils,” takes place from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the historic NTC Promenade, located at 2875 Dewey St. in Point Loma. Enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine, live entertainment and dancing in a luxurious setting, where local lesbian, bisexual and transgender women will be honored. Merging Minds: Non Grata, a controversial performance group from Estonia, performs at the San Diego Art Institute Museum of the Living Artist, located at the House of Charm in Balboa Park. Sunday Funnies: This slate of one-act comedies written by contemporary playwrights and performed at the Get Wireless Store takes a humorous view of dysfunctional relationships from siblings and lovers to co-workers and friends. Dinner, consisting of appetizers, entrées and refreshments, will be available at the adjacent Mediterranean Café, located at 112 Washington St. The pre-show menu will be available for theatergoers from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets for dinner and show are $22 to $27 and $15 to $17 for performance only. Free admission Tuesdays: Several museums in Balboa Park waive their admission fee on Tuesdays. This second Tuesday of the month includes the Museum of Photographic Arts, the San Diego History Museum and the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center. The Timken Museum of Art is always free. The Museum of Photographic Arts and the San Diego History Museum are open until 5:00 p.m., while the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center is open until 3:00 p.m. (619) 239-0512.

KT Tunstall: This emerging singer/songwriter has been compared to Rikki Lee Jones, Carol King and Fleetwood Mac. Already a hit in the U.K., the Scottish musician’s debut album, Eye to the Telescope, showcases heartfelt pop, electric blues and alternative folk. She takes the stage at the House of Blues with Micah P. Hinson opening. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. The House of Blues is located at 1055 Fifth Ave. downtown.
