A perfect match of Thai cuisine and some old Golden Dragon favorites, the newly refurbished Asian Bistro fills a void in the community’s dining world by combining great food with late-night service. The owner, who has been involved in Hillcrest’s culinary scene for many years, and the chef, who has cooked for Thai royalty, joined forces to create a unique culinary experience, which is served daily until 3:00 a.m.

Signature dishes such as Ginger Fusion Halibut and daily specials like Spicy Grilled Shrimp Salad are prepared and served with fresh Thai ingredients that are picked daily.

The owner, Patty, grew up in Bangkok on the banks of the Chao Praya River. When she was a child, she was fascinated by her grandmother’s cooking. She learned from her grandmother that great-tasting food is made from scratch, and includes fresh ingredients and even making one’s own spices. After relocating to the U.S. and working for years in other restaurants, Patty opened The Asian Bistro, cooking like grandmother used to.

“Having worked and socialized in Hillcrest since 1995, I feel every bit a part of the community,” Patty said. “I make it a point to attend local events with all of the wonderful friends I have made over the years.”
