Peaceful Warrior
Dan Millman (Scott Mechlowicz) is a talented college gymnast with Olympic dreams whose world is turned upside down when he meets a mysterious stranger he calls Socrates (Nick Nolte). After a serious injury, Socrates and Joy (Amy Smart) help Dan discover he has much to learn and even more to leave behind.
Wah-Wah
Writer/director Richard E. Grant’s semi-autobiographical “coming of age at the end of an age” story is told through the eyes of young Ralph Compton (Nicholas Hoult). Set in 1969 during the last gasp of the British Empire in Swaziland, South East Africa, the plot focuses on the dysfunctional Compton family, whose gradual disintegration mirrors the end of British rule.
The Break-Up
Art dealer Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) calls it quits with her boyfriend, Gary (Vince Vaughn). What follows is a series of remedies, war tactics, overtures and underminings suggested by the former couple’s friends, confidantes and the occasional total stranger. When neither ex is willing to move out of the condo they used to share, the only solution is to continue living as hostile roommates until somebody caves.
