Lounge Lizards: San Diego’s vocal ensemble In aChord presents a performance at Schroeder’s Cabaret. Break out that polyester leisure suit and get ready for a Las Vegas-style comedic tribute to jazz/pop favorites. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Old Globe Open House: The event will include presentations by the 2006 Shakespeare Festival company, backstage tours, a costume display, free snacks, musical performances and much more. The event takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and also kicks off the 2006 Shakespeare Festival season, featuring A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello and Titus Andronicus, running in nightly rotation in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre from June 18 to Oct. 1. Pasadena Chalk Festival: The 14th annual festival draws nearly 600 artists from across Southern California who will create spectacular murals on city streets. The festival features amazing works of art from every style imaginable. This free event takes place at Paseo Colorado in downtown Pasadena. Taste of Gaslamp: This June fixture in the Gaslamp Quarter gives you the chance to get your lips around samples of food from the best restaurants available in the prestigious blocks between Broadway and Harbor Drive. The festival has expanded to two days with hours on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 each day or $40 for two-day passes. Enjoy over 30 eateries each day. Derby Dolls benefit: Treat your daddy to a night out with the San Diego Derby Dolls at Skateworld for an explosive good time during their “Daddy’s Day Demolition Bout” benefit. During the event, attendees will be treated to a nail-biting bout between The Border Patrol and Code Blue, featuring the Derby Dolls’ advanced athletes. Tickets are $10 at the door. From Winery to Wine: This limo bus tour travels to Temecula and is put on by Wine Smarties. Taste and discuss the wines using the “smart” approach and go on a guided tour of a winery and picnic in the picturesque countryside of Temecula. A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy: The film centers around a weekend party at the home of Wall Street broker and eccentric inventor Andrew Hobbs (Woody Allen) and his wife, Adrian. The party is attended by the sly womanizer Dr. Maxwell, his nurse, Darcy, renowned philosopher Dr. Leopold Sturgis, and a famed academic and his fiancée (Mia Farrow). Seu Jorge: Healing Notes presents the first annual Music Heals benefit concert with Brazilian musician Seu Jorge and guests at Canes Bar & Grill. The proceeds will benefit the music therapy program in the hematology/oncology ward, NICU and the children’s convalescent center at Children’s Hospital. Tickets are $25. San Diego County Fair: The annual county fair has become a local tradition. Enjoy family-friendly favorites such as thrill rides, the agricultural fair, flower exhibits, food, crafts and headline entertainment. The fair will be closed on Mondays, except for the final Monday, July 3. Admission gates open at 10:00 a.m. and admission closes at 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Free admission Tuesdays: Several museums in Balboa Park have no admission on Tuesday. Twilight in the Park: Summertime mid-week music returns to Balboa Park with the Cat–illacs performing rock ’n’ roll classics. Twilight’s live music has been delighting visitors for 26 years, and programs range from military bands and Dixieland jazz to big band swing and Latin salsa. Performances take place Tuesdays through Thursdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. on the stage of the majestic Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. Twilight in the Park runs through Aug. 31.

India.Arie: The Grammy-nominated soul singer takes the stage at Humphrey’s Concerts by the Bay promoting the release of her third studio album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship.
