About 200 people attended the AIDS Walk San Diego Activation event Monday, Aug. 18, which was underwritten entirely by The Prado restaurant. This year marks AIDS Walk San Diego’s return to The Center and 60 teams have registered already, compared to 33 at the same time last year.

Fred Sainz, treasurer of The Center’s board and chair of the AWSD Community Advisory Council, said he was “...excited to see so many people in attendance. There can never be enough teams prepared to fight this disease and we’re very grateful to know that you’re here to help in this battle. AIDS Walk is particularly important this year as state and other funds become less available to help those living with HIV/AIDS and the number of those infected with the disease continues to climb.”
