Front Runners medal at Outgames

Two members of Front Runners & Walkers San Diego (FRWSD) took home medals at the 1st World Outgames, which took place in Montreal, Canada, July 30 to Aug. 3.
Dennis Conte earned four medals overall in various track and field events. In the 400-meter event, he won a silver medal in the men’s 60-64 age division with a 1:37.01 finish. In the 1500-meter race, Conte earned a bronze for his 7:30.22 finish. As part of the Trouble A relay team, Conte earned two medals – one for the 100-meter relay (1:14.63) and another for the 200-meter relay (2:42.23).
In the marathon, Jess LaBonte finished in 3 hours, 41 minutes and 29 seconds – good for a bronze in the 50-54 age division and 33rd place overall. This was LaBonte’s second marathon in a two-week period. He earned a silver medal at Gay Games VII in Chicago last month with a 3:43:52 finish.
